Vitor Pereira has had a good time at Wolves so far, picking up points against both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The positive results have seen Wolves move above the relegation zone and they find themselves 17th in the Premier League now.

As Pereira’s side prepare to take on Nottingham Forest on Monday, some good wishes have now arrived from the new manager’s former club Porto, where he was in charge from 2011 to 2013.

The Portuguese club’s president Andre Villas-Boas spoke to Jornal de Noticias about Pereira and had big praise for him.

He said: “We continue to export talent to the outside world and coaches with great quality. We also had Vítor Pereira, who recently arrived at Wolverhampton, in a championship he always wanted to be in.”

Speaking further, Villas-Boas said: “They are coaches who also trained at FC Porto, they grew up here, they have a lot of our brand and we will hope that they triumph.

“We wish them good luck in the different championships and that they continue to demonstrate the quality that the Portuguese coach has.”

Porto are proud of Pereira and his rise in the game and being a former Porto manager who moved to the Premier League himself, Villas-Boas will understand what it all means.

Pereira still has a lot of work to do at Wolves, who have games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool coming up in the next few weeks. Considering where they are in the table, every point counts.

One thing is for sure – Pereira has started well and he will hope to do more of the same in the future.
