Nicolas Dominguez found the net for Nottingham Forest against West Ham this week.
It was his first goal of the campaign, having become a regular part in the side since Sean Dyche’s arrival.
Game time was running dry earlier in the campaign, but Dyche has used him regularly either on the wings or in midfield. This has been a good usage of his versatility, which has been a key asset since his time in Italy.
The Nottingham Forest player has spoken to Gianluca di Marzio about his situation at the club.
He touched on Forest’s difficulties this season, saying: “It’s difficult to explain, but we all know that the Premier League is a very difficult championship. Every game here is tough. There have been a couple of changes in the last four or five months but the important thing is that the group is united. We can save ourselves.”
Despite Nottingham Forest’s struggles, Dominguez spoke of his dream to play at the World Cup for Argentina.
The 27-year-old said: “It’s definitely a goal! But I’m focused on doing well here because that’s what gets you there. Going to the World Cup is definitely part of my goals. But I have to do well here first.”
The midfielder making the cut for the national team will only help Nottingham Forest, who need his help to drag them out of the trenches this season.
He is slowly rising in stature at the club and regular starts under Dyche clearly show that.
That he can play in a variety will come in handy, with Dominguez having done similar at Bologna.
Considering Nottingham Forest paid about €8m in a swap deal with Remo Freuler, the Argentine is now starting to prove his worth.
