Chelsea had signed Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama in January 2023.
Since then, the talent has had three different loan stints and in his ongoing spell at Strasbourg, he has impressed.
The Brazilian has found the back of the net nine times in all competitions and he is attracting a lot of attention in France and Europe.
Santos has spoken to ESPN Brasil about his future and has indicated his wish to play for Chelsea.
He said, as relayed by PremierLeagueBrasil: “Of course you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. Of course you dream of that moment, but I think the time is to have a clear head, finish the season here and make the best choice when the season is over.”
He also spoke about the possibility of sharing the dressing room with compatriot Estevao, who will arrive at Chelsea in the summer of 2025.
The midfielder said: “Estêvão is a top-quality player, world-class. I’m a good friend of Savinho (from Manchester City), he said he’s a great guy. God willing, he’ll go far and we can create a great duo at Chelsea, a duo of Brazilians.”
Whether Santos actually ends as a teammate with Estevao at Chelsea remains to be seen, but this does seem unlikely.
