Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne is set to depart the club in the summer and interest from Napoli has been reported across Italy and England.

There have been reports that the player’s wife is already looking for a house in Naples, with the couple having previously gone on several vacations in the area.

Napoli, who find themselves in a tight title race, were held to a 2-2 draw by Genoa last night.

Before the game, the club’s sporting director Giovanni Manna was asked by DAZN about the Partenopei’s interest in the Manchester City star. He appeared to confirm their interest in De Bruyne.

He said, as relayed by AreaNapoli: “It is normal that we are always focused on the market, but now it is absurd to talk about the market because it diminishes the work of the coach and the lads. Then it is obvious that we are attentive to opportunities”.

The Italian sounds cautious in his comments about the Belgian and that’s fair, considering the other clubs that have also been linked with the 33-year-old.

Liverpool are reportedly an option for De Bruyne and that would allow him to continue playing in the Premier League.

This also shows that Napoli might have to be quick about their move. After all, they will not get a better chance of signing such a level of player.

Napoli aren’t awash with financial resources but his free agent status gives them a major opportunity to land him, especially since they will play in the Champions League next season.
