Watford youngster Ober Almanza is set to leave the club on a new loan.
According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, the player is about to sign for Real Cartagena on a contract until the summer.
It’s claimed that the Almanza actually had ‘everything ready’ to join Deportivo Pereira, but due to the lack of an agreement with Watford, the club missed out on the signing.
Now with Cartagena winning the race, that seems to be a matter of time until the transfer is confirmed.
Almanza joined Watford a couple of years ago.
In 2021, he was loaned to Spanish side Albacete, and last summer, he made the return to his home country by joining Independiente Santa Fe on a loan deal.
But that spell only lasted six months, and that’s why he returned to the Hornets in January.
But with him not being of any use for Watford at this moment in time, he’s set to leave again, and at the age of 19, it’s fair to say he’s young enough to gain some experience and maybe have a chance to play for the English club one day.
