After a season on loan at Segunda Division side Nàstic, Watford allowed Luis Suárez to join Real Zaragoza on a temporary deal in the summer.
The striker scored six goals last term and has already matched that tally in seven appearances this campaign.
El Periódico de Aragón claims his explosive start to this season ‘confirms and strengthens’ the path the Hornets have for the 21-year-old.
Unless and until there are any last-minute changes, the newspaper states the Colombian will play in La Liga, Watford or another club from a top division next season.
As a part of the loan, Zaragoza don’t have the option to make the deal permanent. Thus, his chances of continuing with them remain limited, unless they are promoted.
At the same time, Watford also don’t have the option to recall him in January, which is why the English club will not decide on his future until next May.
Suárez has applied for the Spanish citizenship (since he’s married to a Spaniard) and he will know if his request will be accepted or not later this week.
There could be a ‘threat of Brexit’, especially if his Spanish citizenship request doesn’t go through, stopping him from representing Watford next term.
The Aragon outlet states Suárez’s form this season makes it clear he deserves to play in the top division and they have backed him to score 20 plus goals, if he remains fit throughout the season.
