Today we get to see Watford being named in the race for Italian manager Francesco Farioli.
It’s interesting how this story is a mix of people from many countries involved, but curiously enough, that information comes from France, with Foot Mercato reporting it.
They feature a report claiming that Antero Henrique, the sports director of Qatar Sports League and in close contact to Braga, is working to bring Farioli to the Portuguese club.
It turns out they may be worried about the competition from Watford, because Foot Mercato also learned that the Hornets are ‘on the lookout’ to sign the coach.
So even though Antero Henrique is ‘pushing’ for Farioli’s arrival at Braga, there’s no guarantee about the coach’s arrival in Portugal yet.
The manager had been an assistant of Roberto de Zerbi, and since becoming a full-time coach, worked at Turkish sides Karagümrük and Alanyaspor.
Watford currently have in charge Chris Wilder, who joined the club in March and only has a contract until the end of the season. He’s had six matches in charge of the club so far, with one win, two draws and three losses.
