Two days ago, Sport reported Jean-Clair Todibo’s chances of joining Watford in January had been ruled out because the Hornets plan to sign the defender on loan, with Barcelona wanting to cash in from his sale.

ESPN Spanish edition now reports Watford, Southampton, AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen have ‘interest’ in signing the centre-back and Barca are willing to listen to offers in the winter market.

It’s claimed the Spanish champions need to raise €124m before June 30th to avoid financial problems. Therefore, they ‘highly value’ interest in Todibo.

Leverkusen already asked about the 19-year-old’s situation with Barca last month, while Southampton, Watford and Milan have ‘knocked on the door’ of the Catalan club to ask about the player in recent days.

Watford and Southampton are currently in the relegation zone and ESPN explains the two Premier League clubs are in the market in ‘search of power stations to shore up their defence’.

It’s believed Todibo could adapt well to English football, if he joins either Watford or Southampton.

His playing time has been restricted since moving to the Camp Nou from Toulouse in January 2019 and a move away from Barcelona would help Todibo get regular minutes at another club.
