Athletico Paranaense are in talks with Watford for the transfer of Jaime Alvarado, according to the South American media.

Both the Colombian and the Brazilian press have been talking about the move, each with their own information.

It first started in the player’s home country media, with journalist René Wehdeking saying Alvarado ‘is the new signing of Athletico Paranense’.

He claimed there’s an agreement for the transfer. The contract is supposed to be draw up in the next few days, and the player should soon fly to Brazil.

Globo Esporte, the biggest sports outlet in Brazil, bring a story saying there are negotiations for the move. They claim they’ve managed to confirm the information from the Colombian press, but don’t really add any details to it.

Alvarado comes from Watford’s youth ranks and had three loan spells in Spain, having played for Real Valladolid, Hercules and Badalona.

He’s never had a chance to play for the Hornets.
