Watford is reportedly one of the clubs in the race for São Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo.
It’s Brazilian outlet IG who this week shares a story on the 19-year-old’s future, claiming he’s ‘watched closely’ by a few European sides.
It’s reported that Watford are one of them, along with Udinese and Benfica.
The centre-back is said to be a target for all of them, with the Serie A side monitoring him for months now.
Getting prepared for the move to Europe, Beraldo is even working on his Italian passport, according to IG.
But for now, there’s no information on how much Watford and others would like to spend on his signing, or how much São Paulo would demand to sell him in the summer.
It’s been just a few months since the player signed a new contract with the Tricolor, so there’s no pressure at the club for him to be sold right now.
Even though Beraldo is valued by Transfermarkt at only €1.5m, that’s something they usually do with the Brazilian market, and we can see São Paulo demanding at least five times that.
