Kiko Femenia left Alaves and made a switch to Watford in 2017 and since then he’s started in 24 Premier League matches.

The 27-year-old’s performance and his past experience of playing in Spain was sufficient for Valencia to identify him as a target.

On November 14th, we covered a report from Marca, who claimed the Champions League side are not letting the right-back out of their sight and believe he would be available for an affordable price.

Marcelino has been forced to deploy Daniel Wass as a makeshift right-back while Cristiano Piccini is recovering from injury.

Spanish outlet El Gol Digital has a story about Los Che’s interest in the Hornets player and they claim that it’s ‘nothing but smokescreen’ because Valencia’s ‘real goal’ is to sign another player to strengthen the fullback position.

Martín Agirregabiria replaced Femenia at the latter’s former club and Alaves are unwilling to trust that Valencia are after the Watford player because they are of the belief that Aguirregabiria is their main target.

If what’s mentioned in El Gol Digital’s report is true, then Watford shouldn’t be expecting the telephone to ring for Kiko.
