Watford signed Dimitri Foulquier back in 2017, but the right-back is yet to make an appearance for the Premier League side.
The defender spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Strasbourg and last summer, the Hornets allowed him to join Getafe on another temporary deal.
Earlier this month, Marca reported the La Liga side are interested in bringing the 26-year-old back to the club.
The defender still has two years left on his current deal and it was explained Javi Gracia’s side are ‘unwilling’ to terminate his contract to allow him to leave as a free agent.
AS claims Getafe are still in the market looking to bolster their defence and Foulquier is a ‘priority’ target for the right-back position.
It’s also stated the operation remains ‘very complicated’, but there is no explanation for why it’s complex. That would likely suggest the issue is around a transfer fee.
Foulquier and Watford have less than two weeks left to find a solution.
