While the vast majorities of scouts travelling to watch Brescia these days are there to supervise the progress of Sandro Tonali, Watford were in the stands for someone else.
At least, that’s what TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy are claiming on Wednesday afternoon, stating Quique Sánchez Flores’ new team sent an emissary to take a look at Andrea Cistana.
They were joined by Villarreal in their endeavour, as the 22-year-old has become a mainstay in Eugenio Corini’s team, starting all five league games so far this season and scoring one goal.
Cistana was faced with the unpleasant task of dealing with Maurizio Sarri’s attacking duo of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala, and while he was unable to help his side avoid defeat in the 2-1 loss, the young defender put in a good display, leaving the scouts with nothing but good reports to write about.
The centre-back, who can also feature on the right hand side of the defence (he did so last year a few times) played a big part in helping his side gain promotion back to Serie A last season, starting 26 of a possible 38 games.
