Said to be in talks to try and sign François Kamano from Bordeaux in France, Watford have apparently got another target in mind if a number of sources are to be believed.
According to both TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy and WebGirondins, the Hornets have asked about Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who has broken into the first-team over the first half of the season, was the subject of ‘direct contact’ between the two clubs over the weekend, but the Ligue 1 side’s requests made Watford take a step back.
Both sources explain Bordeaux wanted €15m for their prodigy, deemed too much by the Premier League club.
Furthermore, WebGirondins state Tchouaméni doesn’t want to leave France’s southwest just yet, preferring to stay with his current club to continue his development.
The young midfielder has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal in a Europa League qualifier against FK Mariupol back in August.
