Watford have today announced the signing of Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona for the rest of the season, and Calciomercato reckon he could be joined by a Barca teammate.
Aleix Vidal has been on his way out of Barcelona for what seems like years, and it’s a surprise there hasn’t been more interest in the talented fullback.
The player’s former club Sevilla have been keen on a deal but weren’t willing to meet Barcelona’s demands, so that one has been shelved.
Calciomercato believe the Pozzo family could be about to swoop and get a deal done ‘in the next few hours’.
Interestingly, the whole thing reminds us that Deulofeu and Aleix are good friends, having become close when the pair were both at Sevilla, and then meeting up again at Barcelona.
They even managed to get into some controversy in 2016 when pictured out having dinner together, the Catalan press tying themselves in knots over not very much.
That’s perhaps reason enough not to dismiss this one for Watford.
