Watford have been negotiating with Marseille over the possibility of signing Brice Dja Djedje. The Ligue 1 side are in a rebuilding process, and have sold several key players this summer.

It was reported Watford had agreed a €4m fee for Djedje, after having an initial bid rejected by the Ligue 1 club.

Tuesday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe says Watford are likely to complete a deal for the Ivorian international today.

The 25-year-old suffered from injuries during last season, and managed only 19 league appearances.

Marseille seem happy to offload the player for a decent fee, after signing him for only €700,000 in 2014. The chance of playing in the Premier League should also be tempting for the player, and it seems the deal suits all parties involved.

Marseille are also trying to bring some players in, but are finding that more problematic than selling half the team and substitute bench.
