The sale of Elia Caprile by Leeds United to Bari continues to look like a good deal for the Whites.
Even though the Elland Road made no significant amount when letting the player leave last summer, they still kept 50% of a future transfer, and that could soon be on the way.
Caprile has 21 appearances for Bari this season, with 20 goals conceded, and his performances have been making him a target for Italian clubs.
The player’s agent Graziano Battistini spoke to Radio CRC about the goalkeeper’s situation, and made it clear that the former Leeds player could soon be involved in a new move.
“Elia is certainly being watched by important clubs as he is doing very well and is young,” Battistini told Radio CRC (via Pianeta Serie B).
“Everything must happen in the right way and at the right time and with respect. He now plays in Bari and it is as if he were a Real Madrid player. I wanted to clarify this. Caprile’s future is the next match against Parma. There is so much to do, I read so many things on the market that are hot air. This is not the Caprile market.”
Caprile belonged to Leeds between 2020 and 2022. He had joined the club as a youngster, playing a few matches for the U21 squad, and that’s the main reason why he was never given the chance to feature for the first team.
With the player now shining in Italy’s second division, a move to Serie A seems to be the best way the Whites could profit with the exit, even if months after his official sale.
