On August 23rd, Santiago Giménez’s agent revealed Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in the Feyenoord star in the last window.
The north London club didn’t go through with a deal but are continuing to keep tabs on the 22-year-old, according to MilanWeb.
The striker played a key role in helping the Dutch club win the title last season, managing 28 goals and three assists. He’s extended his fine form into this season, with nine goals and two assists to his name from seven games.
Giménez’s impressive displays have caught the attention of Tottenham, AC Milan and others. The Serie A side are aiming to sign a striker and have identified him as a target.
It’s said the Rossoneri must ‘watch out’ for the competition from the Premier League to sign the Mexico international, and more ‘specifically’ from Ange Postecoglou’s side. Along with these two clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal are following the player.
With multiple teams in the picture for the frontman, the report states Feyenoord would be hoping for an auction.
Tottenham’s finances give them an edge over the Italian club but MilanWeb say Giménez is not the first-choice target for Spurs and other English clubs, which gives the San Siro side an advantage in the transfer race.
