Leeds United and Atalanta are keen on signing Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz this summer.
On Tuesday, Gazzetta dell Sport reported Leeds won’t give up and their offer is €5m short of Fulham’s €45m demand. They stated La Dea CEO Luca Percassi will travel to England to hold talks with Fulham to try and get ahead of Leeds.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports Percassi is already in London for a meeting with Marco Silva’s side. The Italian club are in the market for a new No.9, after selling Mateo Retegui to Al Qadsiah, and have identified Muniz as their priority target.
The 24-year-old is be convinced about joining the Italian club, who are pushing to sign him. In the last few hours, Atalanta have made an offer of €35m plus €5m bonuses, hoping it’s enough to convince the English club.
Di Marzio claims Fulham are taking their time, because they need to sign a replacement first before letting Muniz leave. He makes no mention of Leeds United.
TuttoMercatoWeb reports La Dea’s negotiations are ongoing with Fulham and they plan to close this operation in the coming days.
Fulham initially requested €50m, but Atalanta seem to be confident a deal can be closed for €44m. Atalanta have to be wary of the Whites as TMW warn them to ‘watch out for Leeds’.
Fulham are in no rush and the report explains they are ‘waiting for an important proposal’ from Daniel Farke’s side. Muniz, however, is prioritising Atalanta and this gives them an edge over Leeds United.
