Manchester City are indeed making a bid for Fluminense youngster Kayky, according to the president of the Brazilian side.
Mário Bittencourt was interviewed by Sportv today, and had no problems sharing the details of the European pursuit for some of their players.
The official first claimed that Shakhtar Donetsk have already submitted a bid for the 17-year-old. The Ukrainian side are offering €5m up front plus €15m in bonuses, while Fluminense would keep 30% of a future sale.
The club will speak to the youngster’s family and staff before taking any decisions, as they’d only keep him in case the player shows the desire to sign a new contract.
But there’s also another bid coming, and that’s the one from Manchester City.
“Manchester City already informed us that they’ll send a proposal too. They warned us yesterday. I don’t even know if it arrived today, because I’m giving you the interview. They will send us a proposal too”, Mario Bittencourt told Sportv.
When starting his quotes, Mário Bittencourt said he’d talk about Kayky and Metinho. Shakhtar Donetsk’s offer is only for Kayky, and it’s not clear if Manchester City are coming for one or the two of them.
The Premier League side have been linked to both players, and just yesterday, it was reported they were offering €10m for the duo.
