Salernitana forward Boulaye Dia remains keen on a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, but they’re offering less than other suitors for now.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say ‘he wants the Premier League’ and Wolves but is far from getting his wish at this moment in time.
Dia currently remains locked in an arbitration battle with Salernitana after being accused of refusing to play for the club against Atalanta.
That is the latest development in what has been a year long falling out with the Italian club after they refused to sell him last summer, or let him move to Wolves on loan at the end of the summer transfer window.
That bid from the Premier League side was publically derided by the Italians, who not only deemed it insufficient but almost laughable and made that opinion public.
That infuriated Dia and he and Salernitana have been unable to get over it since, despite efforts to do so this season.
The two sides would prefer a split this summer to put the whole affair behind them but that is dependent on the outcome of their arbitration at this moment in time.
Gazzetta, though, explain there is still transfer business going on behind the scenes and Dia has made it clear ‘he wants the Premier League’.
They say that he has rejected an approach from Lazio because of this, instead asking to play in the Premier League and waiting until he can get that move.
Wolves are again in the mix and a potential option but ‘offer little’ compared to the other suitors, presumably Lazio. In simpler terms, they’re not offering anything close to what Lazio have so Salernitana won’t accept it and give Dia the move he actually wants.
