Independiente owner Michel Deller has revealed that Moisés Caicedo is determined to leave Brighton and Hove Albion this summer, and insisted he deserves a move to a big club.
Deller has been speaking on the De Una program, relayed by ESPN, regarding the situation around his former midfielder this summer.
Caicedo has been heavily linked with a move away from Brighton for several weeks, despite having signed a new contract with the Seagulls earlier this year.
Chelsea remains extremely keen on securing his signature, but Liverpool have now also entered the race for him as they seek a replacement for Fabinho.
So far Brighton have resisted all efforts to lure the player away from the club, holding out for at least €100m for their star man and refusing to move from that standpoint.
That means he is not close to a departure from Brighton at present, something which has frustrated him and his suitors alike.
Caicedo has seemingly made it clear he wants out before the end of the window and Deller insists that is very much the case.
“He has never forgotten where he comes from and the responsibility he has, he is still the ‘Moi’ child,” he said.
“I hope he gets (a transfer) because it’s what he wants. You want that to happen to Moisés, he is such a simple person, with his feet on the ground.
“He comes to Ecuador and the first thing he does is go to Santo Domingo to spend time with the family, to play with the children of the street.”
