With Bruno Fernandes now being in the Premier League for over four years, we all know he’s an unique type of player, and there are frequently some nice stories about his personality.

Today, we get to see some quotes from Sheffield United midfielder Vini Souza about his interaction with the Red Devils star.

Interviewed by Globo Esporte, the Brazilian was asked about the nicest player he’s faced in the Premier League so far. He answered it was Bruno Fernandes, and recalled a match against Manchester United.

“Bruno Fernandes was great. He asked for my shirt. I was like, ‘Bloody hell, why do you want mine?’ (laughs). Then I took his shirt, even brought it home, left it with my mum and dad, and it was a player who is also super special in the Premier League. He’s been playing at a high level for a long time, and it was nice to face him too, even if it was more on my side. He wished me good luck so I could keep going. I said good luck and shook his hand.”

It’s no secret that Brazilian and Portuguese players who play abroad often share a good friendship, and this is likely to be the main reason why Bruno went straight to Vini Souza for a Sheffield United shirt.

Manchester United managed to beat Sheffield United twice this season. The Red Devils beat the Blades away 2-1 in October, and they had a 4-2 victory at Old Trafford in April.
