Getafe goalkeeper David Soria is back on Nottingham Forest’s transfer agenda for the winter market.
That’s according to Thursday’s edition of AS. They report Nottingham Forest failed in their attempts to sign him last summer.
According to them, Nottingham Forest have now rekindled their interest in the 33-year-old.
The Reds are determined to secure a rapid deal in January as they ‘want him now’. If they were to fail, Sean Dyche’s side won’t give up and will return after this season.
Soria is the first-choice stopper for Getafe this season, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 23 goals from 18 matches. Their manager, José Bordalás, and the La Liga side’s fans, aren’t in favour of his sale in this window.
The Spaniard has less than six months left on his contract. This means January is Getafe’s last opportunity to collect a fee through his sale.
The 33-year-old’s quick transfer can help the Spanish club to raise funds and make room in their wage bill. They need the latter to register new signings.
Nottingham Forest interest is longstanding
Matz Sels, who started this season as the No.1, lost his place to John Victor. The 29-year-old Brazilian arrived from Botafogo last August and John Textor recently explained how the move took shape.
Victor’s performances weren’t convincing and Sels recently returned to the starting XI. Soria has to compete with them for the starting spot if he joins Dyche’s side.
Getafe have to make a decision if Nottingham Forest were to table an offer this month.
Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace were also keen in 2023.
