Carpi president Stefano Bonacini has told the Italian media they will complete a deal with Leeds United for Jerry Mbakogu later this month.

The Nigerian has been linked with a move to Championship side in recent months.

Carpi Calcio News have reported on comments Bonacini made about the forward moving to Leeds United in the coming weeks: “We are waiting for June 30th to complete the operation. In principle there will be no surprises, next year he will be at Leeds.”

It’s reported Leeds United will pay Carpi in the region of €3.5m to sign Mbakogu after months of talks with the Serie B side.

Last week it was reported Carpi are lining up a replacement for the 25 year old as they look to complete the agreement with Leeds United. Bari forward Libor Kozak is said to be their prime target.

Recently the player was granted an Italian passport which will make his move to Elland Road less complicated as the English side will not have to apply for a work permit.
