Last week, FC Twente manager Joseph Oosting said he’s in contact with Rangers’ Robin Pröpper over an Ibrox exit this summer.

The Dutchman spent all his playing career in his home country before leaving the Eredivisie side for Rangers in August of last year. He was a regular for the Scottish club last season, playing 43 games.

Twente are said to be looking at the possibility of bringing the Rangers player back to the club this summer. The Dutch club’s technical director, Jan Streuer, talked about the 31-year-old during a chat with Voetbal International, as relayed by SoccerNews.nl.

Russell Martin’s side could let the defender leave, but Streuer isn’t certain about their intentions. He also insisted Pröpper will have the ‘final say’ on where he wants to play next season.

“But we don’t know [whether Rangers will let him leave] for sure yet,” he said.

“We also have to wait and see what Robin himself wants. He wanted to go abroad and has only been there for a year. If he sees a chance to stay, that could also be his preference.”

At the start of this month, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Twente have agreed a deal in principle with Rangers. It was also stated the Scottish club’s new leaders will decide whether to sell Pröpper.

Meanwhile, Twente midfielder Michel Vlap said he’d be delighted if the Rangers player returns to the club.

“Robin is a top player and personality, everyone would be happy if he were here again,” Vlap explained.
