Denis Churlinov’s move to Burnley FC is still a possibility, with work permit issues having delayed the process.

That’s according to ZVW, who says the move has been a ‘done deal’ for a few days but the striker is yet to travel to England.

They say Churlinov is definitely moving to Turf Moor this summer, with VfB Stuttgart and Burnley ‘in agreement’ on the terms of the deal. Director of Football Sven Mislintat has also commented on the deal insisting it is close.

However, the deal, which is worth €3.5m initially but could rise to €5m with bonuses, has not yet been confirmed.

That’s because of a problem with the medical check, which the Stuttgart striker has not yet completed.

Churlinov was supposed to have his medical in England on Monday, but the North Macedonian is having problems with his visa and thus cannot enter England at the moment.

Instead, there is now a plan for him to undergo the relevant checks in Paris on Thursday and the transfer to Burnley completed after that.

Nobody at Stuttgart wanted to confirm that to ZVW when asked, though, suggesting the Clarets might be waiting a little bit longer before they get their new striker.
