This morning has seen little explosions of claims all over the Dutch media on Vincent Janssen to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to who you believe, a deal is done, almost done, going to be done. Janssen is having a medical, on a plane, holed up at home waiting for news.
Well, it’s pretty clear that Janssen isn’t on a plane, at least at the time the latest Dutch articles went out, because he was photographed leaving AZ’s training ground.
Waiting outside were several journalists and Dutch newspaper AD have spoken to the young striker.
Headlining their article Janssen: ‘Harry Kane? I’m not afraid of anyone at Spurs’, AD quote the player explaining how he sees things.
“Harry Kane? People can say what they want but I’m not afraid of anybody. He is a great striker but we’ll see how it goes.
“We can complement each other, I think I can learn a lot from him. We can both be happy. We will shake hands.”
On his transfer generally, Janssen sounded as enthusiastic as ever about joining Spurs: “I am glad that it is now almost complete. For me it was the case that from the beginning I wanted to go to Spurs. The competition appeals to me and the plan of the coach is similar to the plan that John van den Brom had for me a year ago here in AZ.
“It is a beautiful club with a fantastic new stadium and heaps of potential. Anyone who was in in my shoes would make this step.”
