Victor Orta appears to be considering a Leeds United reunion at Sevilla, with manager Javi Gracia on his list of potential coaches for next season.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say the former Leeds United boss was on the list to replace Diego Alonso earlier this year but didn’t want a job midway through the campaign.
They explain that while Sevilla are focused on remaining in La Liga under the guidance of Quique Sanchez Flores, they are already planning for life without him next season.
Gracia is one of them, and indeed the favourite, after the pair worked together at Leeds United. He is willing to take on the project from the beginning of the season, having already turned down the job when Diego Alonso was dismissed as he didn’t want to take charge midway through.
Orta appears to be keen on him, despite his time at Leeds having been difficult from start to finish.
He arrived in February 2024 to replace Jesse Marsch but only lasted 12 games, winning three, losing seven and drawing two, before being sacked a few games before the end of the season after a run of four games without a win.
Thus, it is strange for Orta to consider him an ideal candidate, but it appears he does and an Elland Road reunion could be on the cards in Seville.
