Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry has ended up Liverpool’s transfer agenda.
That’s according to Bild, who report both Liverpool and Juventus are in the picture to sign the forward in 2026.
The Germany international’s contract expires next June and there’s uncertainty over his continuity at Bayern Munich beyond this season. He’s currently one of the highest paid players at Bayern Munich, earning €17-19m per year.
It’s claimed the Bundesliga winners are refusing to offer the same salary to the 30-year-old. He will have to take a pay cut if he wants to sign an extension.
Recent claims from Italy have mentioned Juventus as an option for the former Arsenal man. Bild relay that and then shares an update provided by their journalist, Christian Falk.
He claims the Serie A side, who are looking for an attacker, have made an approach to ask about signing Gnabry. However, his salary is a ‘major deterrent’ for the Old Lady.
Falk also reports Liverpool’s interest, but his salary would also be a concern for Arne Slot’s side.
“Liverpool also have him on their shortlist. But for them too, that’s a very, very large sum of money,” he said.
Gnabry’s contract situation favours both the Reds and Juventus, as they could sign him for free next summer.
He can operate across the front three and also as a second striker. The German has four goals and four assists from 15 matches for Bayern Munich this season.
Bild often make big claims about Bundesliga players and Premier League clubs, and they often feel questionable. There’s surely no way Liverpool would go anywhere near €17-19m a year for 30-year-old Gnabry, even if there was no transfer fee.
