Manchester United aren’t having the best couple of weeks, but things have looked brighter than before for Christian Eriksen.

He’s had more minutes recently than many expected and it’s clear Erik ten Hag still looks to the player as one of his senior options at the club.

This uptick in form and game time hasn’t gone unnoticed and Denmark boss Lars Knudsen has taken note.

He spoke to TipsBladet and had praise for his midfielder, saying: It is very pleasing that Christian has come to play more. Christian is an incredibly skilled player. He has a high, international level and he is important to us.

“It’s really gratifying for Christian and it’s gratifying for us. You can see in Christian that he has hit a flow, so it is just enormously gratifying.”

The ex-Tottenham man’s inclusion in the Manchester United eleven is largely because of Casemiro’s horror-show against Liverpool and the Dane has, in general, done well in a deeper midfield role.

It’s a positive for Eriksen, and for his status with the national side. Ahead of Euro 2024 there were even some in Denmark who thought he shouldn’t be near the national team because he wasn’t getting many minutes for Manchester United, but he’s gone to some way to proving people wrong since.
