Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy continues to attract interest from Brazil, according to local reports.

Guia Alvinegro now claims that the winger is ‘well evaluated’ by Botafogo, who are looking to sign a new winger in the current transfer window.

It’s said Kenedy is well seen for being a versatile player, as he can feature on both wings and as a fullback as well. However, it’s claimed the signing scenario ‘isn’t considered easy’.

The player has a contract with Chelsea running until 2023, and was included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for pre-season. There, he was listed as a defender, even though he continues to be mostly seen in Brazil as an attacker.

Kenedy had already been playing in Rio de Janeiro last season, as in August 2021 he was loaned to Flamengo for one year. However, following injury to Ben Chilwell, the Blues interrupted the spell and demanded his return to London, even though he was only used three times since January.

It’s still not clear whether Botafogo would like to buy the player or try a loan, although in the second case, he’d probably have to sign a new deal with Chelsea before making the move.
