Odd manager (that’s a club, we’re not having a go at him) Dag-Eilev Fagermo has spoken to the Norwegian media about the training methods at Leeds United after being invited to Thorp Arch this week.
Since Marcelo Bielsa was installed as the manger of the Championship side in the summer there has been an overhaul with the training methods at the club, and a long list of coaches wanting to have a look.
Speaking to Varden, Fagermo was asked about his experiences when watching Leeds United’s training sessions: “We are impressed and learned a lot. Modern football. High intensity and the collective means everything. Not the single player. Pontus sat with us for half an hour and told us about the workouts and training. Very useful.”
Bielsa arrived at Leeds United with a reputation for his high intensity training which seems to have benefited his team this season. The West Yorkshire side currently lie second in the Championship table as they look to get back into the Premier League.
Pontus Jansson himself has gone on record to say Bielsa has helped him after he revealed he’s lost weight by cutting alcohol out of his diet.
The Sweden international was also given extra training sessions by the Argentine coach when he came back from the World Cup in order to get him back into shape.
He took some time out to speak to the Odd boss, and share some of his personal Bielsa insights.
