Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espírito Santo has ‘urgently requested one more signing’ in defence following Cristian Romero’s arrivals this summer.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the former Wolves coach is ‘not happy’ with the squad he has at his disposal.

Spurs lost a UEFA Conference League match to Paços de Ferreira on Thursday and Nuno has informed Daniel Levy he needs ‘more reinforcements’ to compete in the league and qualify for the Champions League.

The Portuguese tactician is keen to strengthen the back line and has ‘left a name on the table, without forgetting the financial situation’ of the club.

It’s claimed the 47-year-old has ‘demanded that Tottenham’ sign Domingos Duarte this summer.

Nuno is an admirer of the Granada player because of his ‘good feet’ and ‘ability to win individual duels’.

Fichajes.net state the 26-year-old could be available for a ‘low price’ because he has two years left on his contract. They, however, don’t mention any figures.

The website suggests a move to Tottenham would be a big jump for Duarte, but then add ‘Nuno feels he has the talent to be a great centre-back’ in the Premier League.
