As well as Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nuñez, Liverpool are sweating a bit about the fitness of Ibrahima Konaté.
The centre-back was not part of the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United on Sunday, which his side lost 4-3 in extra time, because of a thigh injury, but he will still travel to France to join up with the national team.
Whether the Liverpool star stays there, however, depends on the tests that he will undertake with their medical staff, as explained by L’Equipe.
Konaté is ‘expected’ to meet up with everyone else at Clairefontaine, as he was called up by Didier Deschamps, and an ‘update will be given today’ after sitting down with those in charge of fitness.
If he is ‘unable to honour his call-up’, then one of Axel Disasi or Jean-Clair Todibo are expected to take his place, with the Chelsea man set to have a ‘better chance’ than the Nice star.
What is unlikely to happen is Deschamps giving the Liverpool player’s spot to someone who has not been called up before, ruling out anyone else this close to the Euros.
