Fenerbahce are interested in Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi, according to reports from the Turkish media.
Outlet A Spor today writes that the 26-year-old is currently ‘unhappy’ at Goodison Park, looking to leave the club as soon as possible.
And the ‘best option’ for him after leaving Everton is said to be Fenerbahce, who are willing to take him to the Super Lig.
The Turkish club are saying to be ‘trying hard’ for the signing, hoping to get the transfer done before the end of the local window, which closes on the 5th of March.
Iwobi’s arrival is apparently a request from manager Jorge Jesus, who could ‘relax’ with one more attacking option in the squad.
According to A Spor, the initial idea would be to sign Iwobi on a loan deal, but with the player’s ‘insistence on separation’, Fenerbahce could end up signing him on a permanent transfer.
The talks are said to be advanced, with the report claiming the move could happen ‘at any time’, with contracts signed ‘in a short time’.
Iwobi has 28 appearances for Everton this season, with one goal and eight assists. He’s valued by Transfermarkt at €25m.
