You’d think two goals in a 3-0 win would earn you some love, but not if you’re former Leicester City man Kelechi Iheanacho.
Instead, it’s criticism again for the striker today as Diario de Sevilla lay into the striker despite his double in a 3-0 win over Las Rozas.
Iheanacho has been having an extremely difficult time of things since joining Sevilla on a free transfer from Leicester in the summer.
He arrived as the man to provide the Spanish side with the goals but has barely been seen in the last few months as questions about his fitness and his attitude have been raised continuously.
He will have been hoping to put some of those to one side with a double against Las Rozas but instead it seems Diario were less than impressed.
They say Iheanacho, and others to be fair, did not take advantage of the opportunity. Iheanacho, in particular, ‘continues to show a physical condition unbecoming of professional football’.
Not even the two goals he scored, his first goals in almost a year no less, could hide his ‘alarming physical performance’ which was seen in several instances where he received the ball in advantageous positions and wasted them despite playing against amateur players.
A rough assessment for the former Leicester man, then, who it seems will need a lot more time to convince Sevilla, with two goals and a comfortable 3-0 win not doing anything to help his reputation with Diario de Sevilla.
