When players are involved in long and complicated transfer rumours, it’s always good when their agents come up and clarify the situation.
This is the case of Chelsea midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko, who’s unlikely to be with the Stamford Bridge side for the next season.
Following loan spells at Milan, Monaco and Napoli, the player is now strongly linked to a stay in Italy, where a couple of clubs remain interested in his signing.
His agent in Italy, Marco Busiello, had a long conversation with Milan News today, where he explained the chances that Bakayoko has for the summer window, and detailed the difficulties that any interested clubs would have to take him away from Chelsea.
First asked if the midfielder’s return to Milan is possible, the representative teased with the chances.
“Bakayoko had a wonderful experience at Milan, just as the Rossoneri club found a very serious player who left a good memory,” Busiello told Milan News.
“We had a meeting a few weeks ago with the Milan officials who are looking for a player in that position. This is a particular market, in which there’s a need to sell before buying. Beyond Bakayoko, I believe that many hits will be realised later because first the clubs have to place some players before taking others.”
“It’s an idea, not so much Bakayoko, but Milan want to do something in that role. Baka left a good memory and he has a good memory of Milan. The Rossoneri have to do something in that position, so we had some normal talk that happens in these situations.”
However, Bakayoko’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2022, and that makes it unlikely that the Blues would accept to loan him out now and then lose the player for free.
“The problem is precisely this. There are two ways: either Bakayoko is loaned with a redemption obligation by 30 June 2022 or he must renew for another year with Chelsea. Otherwise the player must leave immediately and permanently.”
