After leaving Sampdoria, Marco Giampaolo is expected to replace Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan.

The 51-year-old’s former player Lucas Torreira is linked with a move to the San Siro, a year after joining Arsenal.

Speaking to Calciomercato on Tuesday, the midfielder’s agent stressed a call from Giampaolo would be special for the Uruguay international.

CalcioNapoli24 have now relayed comments made by Sportitalia journalist Luca Cilli, during ‘Sportitalia mercato’, about the 23-year-old. He claims the Arsenal player wants to return to Italy in the summer transfer window.

Another outlet, Tutto Mercato Web, has also claimed the player is open to the idea of leaving the Emirates and is ‘more than willing’ to return to the Serie A.

So far, there have been no negotiations between the two clubs for Unai Emery’s midfielder.

Milan first need to solve problems related to the Financial Fair Play and also take care of outgoings.

TMW explains Torreira ‘winks’ at the Rossoneri and ‘important developments’ are expected in the coming days with regards to the South American and Milan.
