Anderson Talisca’s move to Wolverhampton is reportedly off. The player is expected at Turkish club Besiktas on Friday.
All the big Portuguese sport newspapers (Record, O Jogo and A Bola) agree that the lack of work permit stopped the transfer to the Championship from happening, so the player had to find another destination.
Besiktas are reportedly signing Talisca on a two-year loan with an option to buy for €25m, which is the amount it was claimed Wolves were set to pay for the player.
A Bola also makes an additional claim saying that a disagreement over price also helped ruin the move. However, they don’t make it clear if Wolves struggled to agree terms with Benfica, or rather the player directly.
Again, it makes little sense. If there wasn’t agreement then there would have been no way to apply for a work permit, because the new rules take into account transfer fee paid and salary level.
This may be the end of the Sport Witness Daily Talisca. Farewell Anderson Souza Conceição ‘Talisca’, until we meet again.
