Last week, we covered a story from Il Messaggero, who claimed Lazio’s president, Claudio Lotito, wanted to get Manchester United and Manchester City in a bidding war over Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Well, that information has now also been picked up by Corriere dello Sport, who have their own version of the story on Tuesday.

According to them, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have already made their offers for the Serbian midfielder, and Lotito is simply ‘waiting’ for José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola to come knocking for his star.

However, they make it clear that, out of the two, it’s the Manchester United manager who appears to want Milinkovic-Savic the most, despite Manchester City travelling more than once to watch him play.

Once that offer arrives, that’s when things will start moving along and the player will be made aware of his options.

Lazio are in no need to sell, according to Corriere, which means they can hold out for a while longer, and the Serbia international will only leave on two conditions: if the money is right and if the player expresses a desire to leave.

Il Messaggero, in their article last week, stated Milinkovic-Savic wanted to move in the summer, which, if true, means there’s only one aspect left to work out: how much he’ll go for.

Lazio want ‘€150m at least’, with some at the club even saying €200m.

Basically, if those amounts land on the Serie A side’s table, it will be very difficult to say no, primarily because of what they could do with that money.
