Earlier today, as Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg covered the negotiations between Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Eric Dier, he claimed the Bundesliga side would not pay Spurs for the deal.
It was said that the defender, whose contract with the London side expires in the summer, would initially move for free, and some performance bonuses would be the only compensation in the deal.
Plettenberg is now back with a new story on this transfer, this time writing on Twitter that Tottenham should actually get some money for the sale.
It’s claimed that the ‘most realistic overall package’ is a fee worth between €2m and €2.5m. That’s called a ‘smart deal’ between the clubs.
Plettenberg also highlights that Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel was ‘determined’ to sign Dier, as he’s ‘fully convinced’ of him, while the negotiations were led by club boss Christoph Freund.
The deal with Tottenham is now said to be wrapped up, with Bayern now moving towards their other targets in the transfer market.
