Thomas Tuchel ‘continues to push’ for a deal to bring Ousmane Dembele to Chelsea this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the German boss is ‘clear’ that he wants the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge.

They report that Dembele is a ‘priority’ for the Chelsea manager, who is keen to sign him when he becomes a free agent at the end of this month.

Tuchel coached the winger when he was a youngster at Borussia Dortmund and ‘knows of his potential’, but has been unable to make a serious effort because of Chelsea being on ‘administrative standby’ for months amid the takeover.

That’s now been resolved, and according to MD, Tuchel’s interest in signing Dembele is so strong that Chelsea are willing to offer the player €8m a year net to move to Stamford Bridge.

Dembele is yet to make a decision about his future but has hinted in recent days he would prefer to stay at Barcelona than leave.

For that to happen, he will have to accept their offer, which would see him need to reduce his wages as Barca will not be upping the contract they’ve put on the table.

Thus the situation is in the player and his entourage’s hands, with Chelsea ‘pressing’ to convince them to accept their offer instead.
