The Brazilian media today reveals a little setback in West Ham United’s negotiations for Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno.
In the past few days, the transfer had been reported as done, since the Rio de Janeiro side accepted a €15m bid from the Hammers.
However, according to journalist Venê Casagrande, the move is still not certain, and the reason for that is personal terms.
It’s claimed that even though West Ham have an agreement with Flamengo, they still haven’t received a green light from Fabricio Bruno regarding the salary offer.
Casagrande claims there’s a chance the transfer could then collapse.
Even though the defender stayed out of Tuesday’s match against Millionarios in the Copa Libertadores, he’s now expected to be available to face Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian league at the weekend.
We must say this is a very strange situation, since West Ham surely have the conditions to offer him much more than what he earns at Flamengo.
Now we wait and see if the Hammers will manage to overturn this situation, and it would be odd for the deal to fail because of this. Maybe the London club are going in too low, and will quickly readjust their offer.
