On Thursday, Gianluca di Marzio was confident that Nottingham Forest will now sign Napoli’s Lorenzo Lucca.

Pisa were still interested but the Premier League club had a plane ready to fly the forward to the UK.

Later in the day, it emerged that Nottingham Forest’s deal was indeed done. Tuttomercatoweb said that Napoli will recoup what they had promised to pay Udinese as part of the entire package.

Indeed, Lucca flew to England late last night and more details are now emerging in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Nottingham Forest will pay a loan fee of €1m and have the option to buy of €40m. This is a bit more than expected, with reports previously speaking of an option to buy of €35m.

The newspaper believe that this will open up Napoli’s incomings, with Hellas Verona’s Giovane a key target.

Goodbyes before Nottingham Forest

Corriere del Mezzogiorno add more, making it clear that the striker took part in Napoli’s training session yesterday, or at least part of it. After that, he took time to say his farewells at the training centre before heading for England.

Curiously, they contradict Gazzetta’s price tag. Corriere del Mezzogiorni believe Nottingham Forest’s option to buy is €35m and not €40m. There are no question marks over the loan fee, which is €1m.

Because of Lucca’s exit, Napoli will have a limited squad ahead of their tie against Juventus. They are now rushing to make additions, even if the Italian striker had barely made an impact under Antonio Conte this season.
