Manchester United are on the verge of signing Patrick Dorgu and ‘aim to formalise the deal by tomorrow’, with a feeling the deal with Lecce is now ‘very close’.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who report that a deal worth nearly €40m is now on the table and that will satisfy the Italian club.

The newspaper stats that Dorgu is now close to completing a move to Old Trafford as Manchester United have practically reached the €40m requested by Lecce.

The aim is to formalise the deal by tomorrow, with negotiations now in the final stages. The operation will be worth around €38m in total, between a fixed part and bonuses. As previously reported, Dorgu already has an agreement in place with United and can’t wait to make the move.

This is backed up by Norba Online, a local TV station, who report that the deal taking Dorgu to Manchester United will be announced by Lecce ‘in the next few hours’.

They say that Lecce have given in to the pressure put on them by Manchester United and the deal will be worth €35m plus €5m in bonuses, mirroring other local claims from earlier this morning. This will be the ‘largest capital gain’ in the Italian club’s history and is therefore being presented with some pride.

They would have preferred to keep Dorgu until the summer but have had ‘little choice’ to accept the offer as Dorgu has repeatedly made it clear he wants the move to Manchester United now.

That has helped to push things along and it seems the deal is now on the verge of being done, minus some last-minute final details.
