Rosenborg BK’s Sverre Nypan is expected to make a switch to Aston Villa in the summer window.

On Monday, the UK press stated the Villans are optimistic despite not agreeing a deal with Nypan or Rosenborg.

Nettavisen in Norway report Aston Villa’s interest and provide a background on work done by them to sign the 18-year-old.

They relay claim made by Adressa, who state the Premier League club have taken the lead in the transfer race. In fact, they report an Aston Villa ‘move is on the cards’ for Nypan in the next window.

After relaying this, Nettavisen give their own take on this case. According to them, Aston Villa have been the favourite to secure the youngster’s services for several weeks.

The midfielder is one of the brightest talents from Norway and has already visited several European clubs, after which he’s looking to make a switch to Villa Park.

Nypan held discussions with Aston Villa and is pleased with their plan for him, where he’ll be part of the senior team. The report adds he also held talks with Unai Emery and Villa director Monchi. The Spaniards would have explained their project and their plan for him.

There’s no agreement between the two clubs yet and Nettavisen state Aston Villa are working to finalise the operation with Rosenborg before the summer.
