On December 29th, TV Play reported Arsenal could make an offer for Juventus’ Dušan Vlahović in the winter market.
Fresh claims from England have stated the Gunners have made an offer for the striker but this is dismissed by the Turin club’s technical director, Cristiano Giuntoli.
“An offer from Arsenal for Vlahovic? We don’t know anything about it, but he’s not on the market,” he told Sport Mediaset.
Giuntoli’s comments and claims from the UK about Arsenal’s interest in the 23-year-old are relayed by today’s Tuttosport, who then present their take on this case.
It’s claimed Mikel Arteta has been a ‘long-standing admirer’ of the Serbia international, who is on Edu Gaspar’s list.
Although the Gunners director met Giuntoli last month, the two didn’t talk about Vlahović and there’s no confirmation from his entourage about Arsenal interest.
Despite Giuntoli stating Vlahović is not on the market, the report states the Serie A side don’t have any non-transferable players and need an ‘adequate’ offer to sanction a move.
The report says the Italian club could think of selling Vlahović if there’s an offer of at least €60m.
Vlahović’s deal lasts until 2026 and the details of the contract could see Juventus consider his sale. Tuttosport state his salary will continue to increase until it reaches €12m per season in his last year of contract.
This would be an issue for Juventus’ new management and their idea is to extend his contract and lower his salary. They have already met his agent to discuss this.
The report adds it’s not easy to achieve that, which is why Vlahović’s potential transfer ‘is not to be ruled out’.
This could please Arsenal and if they are keen on signing Arteta’s target, they will have make an offer of at least €60m.
