Girona star Savinho has insisted his head has not been turned towards Manchester City, despite a move to the Etihad being on the horizon.
Mundo Deportivo cover comments from the Brazilian today as he ‘continues to bring joy’ to Girona as they compete at the top of La Liga.
The newspaper explains that far from focusing on future rumours and where he may end up, Savinho is continuing to push Girona to the Champions League.
He’s fully focused on adding to the ‘fantastic season’ he’s enjoying with Michel’s team, with the 19-year-old adding goals against Rayo Vallecano and Osasuna to future boost his tally.
He’s now on ten goals and seven assists in 32 games in all competitions and appears to be fully focused on continuing to add to that number, and sign off on a brilliant campaign before his proposed move to Manchester City.
Indeed, he has continued to make it clear that he’s not thinking about Manchester City in the slightest, insisting his focus in on Girona and nobody else from now until the end of the season.
“I’m not thinking about next season, I’m only thinking about taking Girona to the Champions League,” the newspaper reports him saying.
They add that his goal is to help Girona to qualify for the Champions League and he hasn’t even ruled out returning next season if they do so, particularly if Michel remains as manager.
For now, the focus is on achieving that goal and not Manchester City, who aren’t in his thinking despite the consistent rumours about a transfer to the Etihad.
