Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are today all linked to FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
The story comes from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, and claims that as the Dragons may need to make a big sale this summer, the goalkeeper is a serious candidate to leave.
It’s said that Costa has been watched by European clubs for a long time, with Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea all monitoring him recently.
The 24-year-old’s departure from Porto is becoming an ‘increasingly real scenario’, even though the Dragons won’t just sell him for pennies.
Costa is protected by a €75m release clause, and the Portuguese club will only let him go for something close to that.
The goalkeeper is a product of Porto’s youth ranks and was promoted to the first team in 2019. So far, he has 154 appearances for them.
He’s set to be a starter in Portugal’s campaign in the Euros, and perhaps his performances in the tournament could end up convincing Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea to place their high bids for him. Bayern Munich are also said to be watching.
